Hearts and Sleeves - Week Three

It starts so easily! You’re with one of your closest friends and begin to talk of a mutual friend, and then before you know it a perfectly innocent conversation has morphed into a toxic mess of gossip. So how do you prevent your conversation from accidently slipping to this point? Just ask this simple question before you say something about someone else: Would I like it if this was said this about me? If the answer is no, keep your lips sealed and move on to another topic. Gossip not only eats away at your heart when you speak it but it also infects those listening, not to mention hurting the one being gossiped about. Be aware and prevent the virus of gossip from spreading, instead of finding a cure when it is almost too late. (James 3:8-10)
