The dream sailed down from the pearlescent Gates of Heaven and began to drift with the tides of the wind to his destination. He had been waiting for this day for so long. The day when the King would call him up from the Court of Dreams into the shimmering Throne Room and say to him in a thrillingly kind whisper, “It is time for you to make a home in the heart of one of My children.”The dream could still feel the waves of delight tickling him as even now he was gliding down into the heart of one of the children of the King.

Everyday Birthday
The waitress who presided over the Sunrise Diner placed my ID (Number 124) into my hand and plopped the plate of crisp hash browns on the checkered table cloth and flashed a smile wide as an 18 wheeler’s turn radius.
“I hope it’s a special day for ya, and breakfast’s on the house!”
I smiled back innocently as if I had never before seen such kindness.
“Why thank you ma’am. You know it only comes once a year, so you may as well enjoy it while you got it!”
The waitress rolled away while I picked up my fork and smiled contentedly as I looked at the road map spread out in creased array before me. I was in Lebanon, Kansas, the day was July 3rd, I was right on schedule, and I was a member of a new breed of homeless men.
Un-Waterproofed
In the midst of London on the bank of the Thames River there once was a little shop. This shop was filled with umbrellas that lined the walls, stacked up from the floors, and hung from the ceilings. There were black umbrellas of several sizes, grey umbrellas of some sizes, and brown umbrellas of small sizes.
And in the very back of the shop.
Behind the blacks, grays, and browns.
There was a little woven basked marked, “clearance.”
And in this lonely little basket there was one lonely little umbrella.
An Upper Room With Two Views
The one sentence that has haunted all of my days is this: I wasn’t there. For you to understand the importance of these words I will tell you my story. My name is Daniel and I have always been zealous for God. I joined John the Baptist in the hope that the time of nation-wide freedom had come. But I didn’t stay with him because I saw something greater: His Name was Jesus.
