The Sea is a Dancer

The Sea is a dancer
Pirouetting her currents
Twirling her skirts of waves

Letting the shores glance
At her foam trimmed petticoat

The coasts of the countries wish to dance with her
She takes a turn on the ocean floor with each
She flits and flirts from one to the next
But not one ever holds her hand for long
She is always slipping away

And while all the world tries to woo her
It is one soaring above the world that has her heart
The Moon is why the Sea loves to dance
She may pull back shyly
But always he gently draws her to himself

They waltz together in the tides
Her heart shivers in her eddies
When the Moon holds her close

The Sea is in love
You can see it in her waves when she dances
